"Schoolchildren against malaria": raising awareness through drama
On the occasion of World Malaria Day, sanofi-aventis is renewing its support for the "Schoolchildren against malaria" initiative in collaboration with the National Malaria Control Programmes (NMCPs) of several African countries.

In Africa, children are the primary victims of malaria, but they are rarely taught about the disease at school. Through a drama competition, the “Schoolchildren against malaria” project launched by sanofi-aventis in 2008 is designed to inform children about malaria and how it can be prevented.

These "schoolchildren against malaria" will act as information relays for their families and friends, because everyone, child or adult, has a role to play in the fight against malaria.
This year, sanofi-aventis continues its support of Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana and Burkina Faso NMCPs. The "Schoolchildren against malaria" initiative has already raised malaria awareness among 40,000 children. Sanofi-aventis is committed to extending this project to other countries.
